Final expansion will bring solo and multiplayer extras

Naughty Dog has started to tease the final piece of The Last of Us DLC that will focus on the multiplayer, but also add a new difficulty setting for solo play. On a post from their official blog, Community Man, Eric Monacelli, has this to say on the last expansion…

“It is chock full of multiplayer goodness with new maps, new weapons, new skills and also a brand new difficulty mode for the single-player campaign. We’ll have more information on it as in-game elements near completion”

We suspect the new difficulty level will be a tough of as old boots setting in the same vain as the recent ’1998 mode’ in BioShock Infinite’s Burial at Sea Episode 2 DLC. We can’t really see them making it easier.

Monacelli stops short of announcing a release date or price in his post, but no doubt we’ll hear more about these in the near future. We’ve asked Sony for clarification and will update this story accordingly.

In the mean time, you can get your hands on the Abandoned Territories multiplayer pack and the superb Left Behind single-player expansion of which you can read about in our review here.
